Schizophrenia
is often misunderstood by the general public. Someone
who suffers from schizophrenia is often thought of as
suffering from a multiple personality disorder. This
is not true.
Schizophrenia is a neuro-psychiatric disorder
that is characterized by various signs and symptoms such
as delusional beliefs, hallucinations, disorganized behaviour
and speech, and social withdrawal.Schizophrenia is a disabling
and chronic disorder. Individuals are often not able to
function well in occupational, social and personal activities.
Treatment is often difficult and does not cure the person
of this affliction, however treatment does alleviate
many of the symptoms.
