Schizophrenia is often misunderstood by the general public.  Someone who suffers from schizophrenia is often thought of as suffering from a multiple personality disorder. This is not true.

Schizophrenia is a neuro-psychiatric disorder that is characterized by various signs and symptoms such as delusional beliefs, hallucinations, disorganized behaviour and speech, and social withdrawal.Schizophrenia is a disabling and chronic disorder. Individuals are often not able to function well in occupational, social and personal activities.
