Cape support for mental health is a family support group, which was founded in 1981 by the relatives of people suffering from schizophrenia.

· To give support to families of people affected by prolonged mental illness.
· Enlighten and educate relatives and the public about mental illness.
· Change negative community attitudes towards those with mental illness.
· Work towards improved facilities for people who suffer from mental illness.

We hold monthly meetings which are addressed by experts in the mental health field, and liaise with other support groups both locally and abroad as well as with other service organizations.

By sharing experiences, the group provides its members with advice and emotional support. This enables caregivers to seek help more confidently for their relatives.

In becoming a member of Cape Support For Mental Health you receive a monthly news-letter and access to our library.
